In the year of 2013, Jesus healed me of a debilitating neuropathic chronic pain disease, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, that had progressively, systemically, laid hold of my body. Some aspects of this magnificent and Divine healing were lightning fast. Most were long, humbling and humanly hard, sweaty, grueling and awful. As with each one of us, the healing pathways continue purposefully structured with longterm commitment.
In truth I can say: "I once was lame---but now I am free!
During the season of intense RSD crippling, God gave an indescribable gift; His Word, line-after-line, paragraph-after-paragraph, whole chapters, whole books, memorized. This memorization became a beloved, rigorous effort which kept me solidly inside of God's pervasive kindness and sovereignty in the volcanic center of an endless tsunami of outrageous pain and sleeplessness. I memorized the New Testament books of Matthew, Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1-2 Thessalonians, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1-2 Peter, 1-2-3 John, Jude, and my favorite---the book of Revelation---as well as Ezekiel 37 and many psalms. The neuroplasticity that attentive memorization affords is my very personal and sincerest choice of method and mode toward living inside of a bigger eality beyond "self" and lived-experience and to a gladdened position of comprehension that God is good and God is just..
"Every cloud is a flag pointing to God's faithfulness!"
I have also discovered that beautiful and thought provoking and thought bending words grafted in at heart level, especially combined with neuro-movement, are a consistent tool for "it is wellness with my soul," to the degree of mind, body and spirit.
And now---inside of all of this, I speak, presenting God's Word(s), the Scriptures, whole chapters, and whole books. Dramatic presentations (Scripture memorized word-for-word are premeditated on the Greek word: aletheia = ἀλήθεια. In personal emphasis it means: honestly honest honesty and truthfully truthful truth.
I simply cannot imagine a better place to meet together in unity with the Savior of the world and the Lord (my) Jesus Christ.
